What's it like? The San Francisco Original U.S. Restaurant on Columbus Avenue in the North Beach district is a decent Italian restaurant. This section of North Beach restaurants is called "The Strip" and it relies to a great extent on walk by traffic and a little less on repeat customers. This means that it is difficult to find outstanding restaurants at a decent price. The Original US Italian restaurant offers, decent food at a decent price. We ordered the Spaghetti Meatballs and another pasta dish. They were both good but neither were outstanding. The view from the windows is nice because it does overlook on to Columbus Avenue and you can see people walking around. Restaurant service was good but nothing to write home about.
