The Naked Fish Sushi restaurant in San Francisco, located in the marina district, is delicious. My favorite was the Naked Fish Roll (Unagi, avocado roll topped with yellow tail and tuna wrapped in soy paper). The fish at Naked Fish was really fresh and flavorful. We also tried the Naked Fish Fire Cracker Balls which are deep fried fish balls with spicy sauce...not so healthy but a good alternative to fries at a sushi restaurant. The Red Caterpillar was also a good roll made with spicy tuna topped with seared tuna and a garlic-honey-soy glaze.
We went to the Naked Fish sushi restaurant on an off night in San Francisco so the restaurant wasn't very full. I have read restaurant reviews about Naked Fish saying that the sushi is good but the service isn't so much...I can only say the service we got that night was very good but the real star of the show, was of course: the naked fish.
Considering the quality and creativity of the sushi, I think that this sushi restaurant has a right to command a slightly higher price than most sushi restaurants, and it does so charging $9-12 for most sushi rolls. For three people we spent almost $100 with tip and we didn't have any drinks.
