Mi Lindo Yucatan has two locations in San Francisco, one in the Mission district (Valencia and 15th) and the one we visited in Noe Valley. This isn’t the typical Mexican cuisine of enchiladas and chips and rice and beans, so don’t expect that (it’s just the closest category that fit). The restaurant itself is very clean and open and colorful. The dishes followed suit as far as presentation goes. I have consistently heard that the Poc Chuck is to die for. We saw this come out, and while it DID look delicious, my vegetarian friend and I decided to split a few dishes.
I’ve enjoyed a lot of Mexican food in San Francisco, but the dishes at Mi Lindo Yucatan surprised me in a very good way. The ceviche was served on a tostada and was as delicious as expected. We also got this weird “arm-thing”, we can’t remember exactly what it was called (something with brazo) but it was wrapped in a banana leaf - it wasn’t especially good.
The dish that made the meal was the vegetarian relleno. This chile was stuffed with perfectly prepared veggies and lightly fried. I have been back twice since and everything I have tried has been great (I have to admit that I got the relleno again both times and was not let down). I need to go back to Mi Lindo Yucatan and try everything else on the menu. Then go to the Mission location and try everything there. Just to make sure.
I’m actually looking into condos and apartments adjacent to either location. Mi Lindo Yucatan is quickly becoming one of my favorite Mexican Restaurants in San Francisco.
