Kezar’s pub bills itself as the “Home of the 49ers”. It’s true that the Niners used to play in Kezar Stadium, just across the street at the edge of Golden Gate Park. This is a GREAT place to watch sports in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco, Kezar has almost 20 flat screen TVs and every satellite channel you could want. It gets packed on game days (American Football, Proper Football, Hockey, Basketball, Cricket, you name it).
As for the food – typical pub grub like burgers and fries and nachos. Their claim to fame is hot wings though. I’ve found it very tough to get good hot wings in San Francisco, but Kezar does a very good job. They are large and spicy and served with the standard carrots and celery and blue cheese (you can ask for ranch). The grilled cheese at Keazar’s is also good and the nachos are tasty and easy to share. The garlic fries were bland and the burgers are just so-so.
Overall, food at Kezar is pretty expensive and not too special. If you just want to watch games and eat hot wings, the Kezar pub in San Francisco is perfect. Just get there early to get a table and the kitchen closes around 10pm.
