Located in the vibrant Mission district of San Francisco where there are many competing restaurants, this small sushi restaurant delivered good sized portions, innovative sushi maki rolls and a rather expensive bill at the end ($50 for two for lunch).

The two sushi rolls that drew our attention were the "Orgasmic Spicy Tuna" roll, which was tasty...not sure about orgasmic; and the Baby Dragon roll which was very very good but was also $14.

In any case, the restaurant offers quality sushi but for quite a high price which I believe to be over-priced by about 10-15%. We will be back to check the happy hour special (5-6 PM, Mon to Fri) which promises $99-1.99 sushi pieces and rolls...if the quality remains the same, it will be a good deal.

So the following week we went back to San Francisco's restaurant Crazy Sushi for "happy hour" (note the quotes). I had been the weekend before and commented on how this sushi restaurant was good but over priced, I was wrong, it is VERY over priced. When we arrived to the sushi "happy hour" it was literally one hour from 5 to 6 PM. We barely made it in time once we got out of work and made it over to the restaurant located in the Mission (on 16th, just past Valencia). The sushi restaurant was empty...not a good sign. Every one knows (except crazy sushi) that happy hour is not really only 60 minutes, it is usually from 4-6 PM, sometimes later. Anyway, the sushi "happy hour" works this way: there is a choice of three sushi rolls priced $1.99 or $0.99 which change every day (from Monday to Friday). The catch is that you can ONL ORDER ONE of each of these three options PER TABLE!!! So three small rolls total to share among all your friends. In other words, this "happy hour" scheme is just a cheap hook that really does not provide any happiness whatsoever other than to the owner cashing in on the poor fools (like me) that showed up to their sushi "happy hour." I was with one other person and I felt like ordering another sushi roll that was on their happy hour menu. They said that it was fine but I would have to pay the full price (I guess it must have been $4 or $5). I suggested that I could seat at a different table so as to not violate their "happy hour" rule. They denied the request. So in response, we cancelled the rest of our dinner order which I am sure would have been over $50 since we had spent $50 on lunch that previous weekend. The two sushi rolls that we did eat at Crazy Sushi (crazy in a crazy not so good way) were tasty so I can't bash them on that but I can on the poor customer service and their Crazy "happy hour" which should be renamed "rip-off hour." We will never go back to this San Francisco sushi restaurant...well maybe just for the two rolls (we'll seat at different tables) and then go to dinner around the corner as we did that night.

PS The third sushi roll we decided not to order was a pumpkin roll...not so hot in our book.
