Just walking distance from the Union Square shopping area where Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, The Saint Francis Hotel are just a few of the nearby establishments, There is a small restaurant called Bangkok noodles and Thai barbecue. It is just one block up from Market street where the Cable Car turn around for the Powell and Mason, Powell and Hyde street Cable cars turn around for another trip up the steep hills of Powell street with tourists from all over the world.
You will find fast service and good reasonably priced food from the Bangkok, Thailand area. The menu includes a variety of different dishes including Noodle soup, Stir fried noodle, Rice plates, BBQ Plates Special Soups ad Vegetarian dishes. The soup which I ordered was especially tasty. I ordered the Barbecue Pork with Wonton and noodles. This dish comes in a large bowl filled with healthy portions of wontons and fresh noodles topped with Cha-shu Barbecue pork and spinach. There are 4-5 spices and condiments for you to add flavor to your desire on each table including Hot oil, peanuts, soy bean paste, and of course soy sauce and vinegar. The Barbecue items can be ordered as a single meal that includes steamed rice. Any one of the items from the entrée over rice can be substituted for over any of the noodles they serve so you can have curry over rice or noodles.
If you are coming back from a long day of shopping in Union Square, or sightseeing on the cable car and you are not ready to go back to your hotel, this is a great place for you to get a bite to eat without spending a small fortune. The Bangkok restaurant is open daily from 11:00am to 01:00am 7 days a week.
The Hotels nearby include the St.Francis Hotel, the Sir Francis Drake Hotel, the Nikko Hotel, the Hilton Hotel, Marriott Hotel, The Four Seasons Hotel, and it is just a cable car ride away from the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental Hotel and the Fairmont Hotel.
