The Amberjack Sushi restaurant is simple, fairly inexpensive sushi and the service is great. The lights are comfortably dim and the tables aren’t packed too close (especially if you get one by a window).
The parking situation at Amberjack’s is not great, but if you park a few blocks away it’s possible to find a spot. For those of you that care about the earth and don’t drive: 1. Good work, 2. Amberjack Sushi is right on the Muni J-line. Nothing really stands out, Amberjack Sushi in Noe Valley is like so many sushi restaurants in San Francisco (Sushi Boom, Godzilla Sushi, etc.). The seaweed salad is good, as is the dragon roll, and the pieces of nigiri are large for the price (usually, although I have noticed a bit of variation). The miso soup is standard, but the tea is a little better than many sushi restaurants in San Francisco.
Amberjack Sushi also has a decent sake list, their basic warm sake is pretty good and the plum sake is something special. I don’t know of any better sushi restaurant in the Noe Valley neighborhood of San Francisco, especially for the reasonable price. Amberjack is not really worth traveling to, but more than just overflow for Eric’s. Fresh fish and good service basically sums up Amberjack Sushi as a decent neighborhood sushi joint in San Francisco.
