Colibri Mexican Bistro

Want Mexican food that's not a hole in the wall? Oh yeah, and on Union Square. Colibri is solid, however, it's not the best Mexican food in town. I'm all about the taquerias in the Mission, but sometimes you need a nice restaurant for a gluten-free friend before going out downtown. This restaurant fits the bill.

Guacamole with homemade tortillas...yum. The green salsa is particularly delish. I noshed on 2 apps for my dinner, the shrimp ceviche and panuchos de cochinita pibil (toasted pork shredded over corn tortilla shells, stuffed with beans avocado and pico de gallo. A bit too much food for one, but my companions helped me out. The duck mole that I tried was ok and had some weird spaghetti side to it, seemed out of place.
